deathmistmic build on new SDK ends with "Error <creator>[05/02 00:04:43] : Command 'modprobe' is not available." which comes right after "Info[05/02 00:04:42] : Retrieving repomd.xml.key ...[05/02 00:04:42] :  DONE", afaik this issue was discovered before too but just now will start becoming a widespread issue for everyone? on 3.1 SDK chroot I had no issues building for 3.3.0.1600:05
deathmistalso should libnciplugin be in common or not? :p https://build.sailfishos.org/project/monitor/nemo:testing:hw:oneplus:cheeseburger?arch_armv8el=1&defaults=0&repo_sailfishos_3_3_0_16=1&unresolvable=100:35
T42<Pepelooklikefrog> repo problem: nothing provides libbase.so needed by droid-config-santoni-1-1.armv7hl04:15
T42<Pepelooklikefrog> I need help04:15
T42<Pepelooklikefrog> Ok, I fixed it04:25
T42<Pepelooklikefrog> https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/wcjtwt3b7K/05:08
T42<Pepelooklikefrog> I am trying to build qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin. I updated to 3.3.0.1605:08
deathmist@Pepelooklikefrog how did you update? I definitely don't have that on local builds nor OBS, try re-adding mb2 tooling + targets and try again08:37
deathmistalso make sure to bump your dhd submodule back to latest on master branch if you haven't yet09:27
corvinuxWould be it  possible to do HW adapt. for Xperia  X to support android 8.1?10:20
vknechtcorvinux: started that a while ago, https://build.merproject.org/project/show/home:vknecht:hw:qualcomm:f512110:27
vknechtalso a pie based port which works better, but only boots correctly sometimes: https://build.merproject.org/project/show/home:vknecht:hw:sony:loire10:28
vknecht(because of https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/device-sony-loire/commit/75811b2c2d85cc8147e1b4d6b29d22bfb5ac2c84#diff-bfe4388236c79fe44d6c494ecad6875e )10:31
T42<neochapay> lbt on mer obs aarch64 build is broken https://build.merproject.org/package/live_build_log/home:neochapay:mer:core/audioresource/latest_aarch64/aarch64 with last qemu10:57
deathmisthttps://github.com/sailfishos-oneplus5/droid-hal-device/blob/master/helpers/build_packages.sh#L247-L249 I had to add all 3 of these to my repo on OBS to get `nfcd-binder-plugin` built for SFOS 3.3.0; I think these should be in :hw:common (if possible) as I alluded to earlier11:00
rinigusmal: from your PSA, I assume that we should wait with the updates till droidmedia, gst-droid, vibrator are fixed. is that assumption correct?11:41
piggz_mal: is the failure here becuase droid-hal-t5-kernel fails to install? https://build.sailfishos.org/package/live_build_log/nemo:devel:hw:fxtec:t5/droid-hal-version-t5/sailfish_latest_armv7hl/armv8el11:43
T42<elros34> it's because of filesystem change permission of /boot. Here is  workaround https://irclogs.sailfishos.org/logs/%23sailfishos-porters/%23sailfishos-porters.2020-05-01.log.html#t2020-05-01T23:05:1611:49
T42<birdzhang> Fixed "Command 'modprobe' is not available." by "sudo zypper in kmod" in platform_sdk11:49
deathmist@birdzhang I was literally just typing that! xD wondering why sailfishos-platform-sdk-base @ 3.3.0.14 tag works fine for Ci builds but latest SDK chroot fails to do builds locally 🤔 probably has kmod installed doesn't it11:51
DylanVanAsscheThe docker image has kmod installed11:52
deathmistwelp, http://releases.sailfishos.org/sdk/installers/latest/ should be fixed then :p11:52
T42<adampigg> @elros34 thx11:53
T42<ankaos> (Photo, 1280x719) https://irc.thaodan.de/.imgstore/aM0t56N9w5.png12:09
T42<ankaos> init debug in reel rootfs not mounted12:10
T42<birdzhang> is camera viewfinder black screen a common issue?12:19
T42Aqjdphqqzoj was added by: Aqjdphqqzoj12:20
deathmist@birdzhang probably too old version of `droidmedia` (you have to upgrade it for SFOS 3.3), works fine for me12:21
T42<birdzhang> okay, let me try12:28
deathmisthttps://git.sailfishos.org/mer-core/timed/merge_requests/20/ fixed broken `timed-qt5` as in not being able to manually set time, BUT even with that I still am unable to login to my TJC account (probably extends to creation as well) in SFOS 3.3.0 due to "Problem with network" + automatic time still doesn't seem to be working (was also entirely disabled when I checked system settings)12:48
T42Hnyulgrti was added by: Hnyulgrti12:50
deathmisteven after 5 consecutive reboots since initial installation it still hasn't fetched the network time after I enabled "Automatic time" in time & date settings on the first boot...12:55
deathmistguess what started working perfectly as soon as I inserted a SIM card to the phone and enabled cellular data usage on that SIM before rebooting, yep, automatic updating of time & date, even though I already had a perfectly functional WLAN connection13:19
deathmistand after further testing, it seems it ONLY wants to update the time and date when you ONLY have a cellular data connection, as soon as I also have WLAN enabled (later on in boot process) it cannot fetch the time & date any more, while disabling WLAN leaving only cellular data enabled makes it work perfectly again13:20
piggz_what version of 1nfce-binder-plugin should be used, 1.0.5 builds, but after that has extra deps, do those need to be packaged by ports?14:57
piggz_mal: ^14:57
T42<elros34> hmm sshd.socket is disabled after upgrade to 3.3.0. I had to enable it in developer settings15:10
deathmistpiggz_: 1.1.1 as per https://together.jolla.com/question/222222/changelog-330-rokua/#222222-nfcd-binder-plugin anyway, I recommended adding the 3 extra packages to :hw:common earlier today15:10
T42<adampigg> deathmist: ah, thx15:13
T42<elros34> is there any way to tell mb2 to strip binaries in rpm?15:31
maldid anyone try new droidmedia and gst-droid?15:33
T42<elros34> no issues for me so far15:34
malok, wondering why viewfinder color format seems wrong on fp215:36
T42<ankaos> how fix real rootfs not booted?17:39
deathmistcan others here confirm that automatic update of time & date is broken on initial boot in SFOS 3.3.0, works only on boot (i.e. it won't update after the fact if you modify it and re-toggle autoupdate on) if you enable cellular data while keeping, say, WLAN enabled and works always if you disable all networking connections other than cellular data?17:40
deathmistyou'll also need to `zypper in --force timed-qt5` in order to change the date & time manually due to caps not being set during mic builds -> https://git.sailfishos.org/mer-core/timed/merge_requests/20/ fixes this17:43
T42<ankaos> Elron cat init.log output https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/5b6RhFWVfQ/17:52
T42<elros34> ? there is nothing wrong here. What are you trying to fix now?17:54
T42<ankaos> not open device. ı see only logo17:54
T42<elros34> not sure what do you mean by "no open device" but if you have telnet at 2323 port available then init.log is not useful, only dmesg, journalctl, later logcat17:56
T42<ankaos> https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/vZMGDP3HyB/ for dmesg output17:58
T42<elros34> show output of zcat /proc/config.gz and mer-kernel-check18:00
T42<ankaos> 😱18:02
T42<ankaos> I have config not changed in a way I don't understand.18:05
T42<elros34> yeah I am trying to explain it to you since 2 days but maybe my english is to bad. Do not edit out/*/.config file, ever. It's generated from your kernel/arch/arm/configs/*defconfig file everytime you change something in defconfig and rebuild kernel. kernel config options have dependecies so if you use CONFIG_AUDIT=n then setting CONFIG18:09
T42_SECURITY_SELINUX=y will fail and in .config you will still have CONFIG_SECURITY_SELINUX=n18:09
T42<adampigg> mal: new droidmedia and gstdroid is ok on pro118:16
malhmm, what is wrong with fp2 :/18:17
malalthough fp2 needed some hacks to camera code in android18:17
malto get it working in sfos18:18
T42<ankaos> @elros34 [yeah I am trying to explain it to you since 2 …], The out / * /. config file is not the same as kernel / arch / arm / configs / * defconfig.19:06
T42<ankaos> There are no parts I have corrected.19:07
maldid you modify the correct file?19:16
maland rebuild kernel19:16
T42<ankaos> @mal [did you modify the correct file?], yes19:17
T42<ankaos> @mal [and rebuild kernel], 3 rebuild19:17
T42<elros34> @ankaos be more verbose, what config, which file. If you are not sure which defconfig is used then: make clean; make hybris-boot and you should see which defconfig is used19:50
malDylanVanAssche: in case you are bored you could fix the native port packages that broke after 3.3.0 https://build.merproject.org/project/show/nemo:devel:hw:native-common new gstreamer (1.16.1) was included in 3.3.0 so rebasing is needed, also mesa needs removal of one dependency20:24
T42<adampigg> I wonder of mesa should be updated,.and ill keep an old version for latte20:27
mal@adampigg the main thing breaking it the useless dependency20:29
mal@adampigg which mesa do you use on pinephone?20:30
mal@adampigg why old mesa for latte? are new versions still broken20:30
deathmisthttps://together.jolla.com/question/226668/bug-automatic-update-of-date-time-only-works-strictly-on-cellular-data/ I'd appreciate it if others here test reproducing this bug on their phones :)20:33
piggzmal: pine is good with latest ...20:34
piggzlatte broke ... worth checking latest again tho .... @eugenio_g720:35
T42<eugenio_g7> Yea need to check latest mesa21:04
maldeathmist: have you figured out which permission in wrong if reinstalling timed helps?21:13
malah, that was in some other issue21:13
deathmistmal: if you read the MR I linked there, setting caps apparently has never worked for timed-qt5 and postponing it to initial boot fixed that up21:14
malwondering why there hasn't been issues before21:14
deathmistprobably no one has bothered to check setting time & date manually lol, it definitely was an issue also on 3.2.121:15
deathmistI could even boot up some of my super old 3.0.3 images to see if it's there, but not really relevant21:15
malhmm, so that only happens in new images because ota fixes it21:18
maldeathmist: wondering what is happening when I set manual time and have device in flight mode and then turn on automatic time it changes to the previous time, does it store the old automatic time somewhere21:19
piggzmal: any thoughts why on pinephone port /etc/dcont/* gets wrong permissions?21:39
maldo you build the image on ci?21:42
T42<adampigg> mal: yes, porters ci21:44
malbuild log doesn't show anything obvious21:47
mal@adampigg does rpm -qf /etc/dconf for some of those paths show normal things21:53
T42<adampigg> Will check tomorrow :)21:58
T42<adampigg> We added hack to kickstart to change permissions for now21:59
T42<ankaos> @elros34 [@ankaos be more verbose, what config, which fi …], ı look tomorrow. thanks :)22:33
